major

i'm really confused right now.  all this time i've been thinking of doing a master's in aerospace engineering because that's what i did my undergrad in.  i have a list of schools (which btw i added michigan and stanford to the list even though they are a far reach) in mind to apply for to study aero.  that's great and all, except i don't know if i even really like engineering.  i can't tell if i hate it or if i'm just burnt out.

and then there was geophysics.  some people are telling me to stick to engineering, some are saying switching to something different for a master's would make me more marketable.  but going to this would only really make me marketable for one specific field and that's working on structures that move or sit on the ground either on earth or somewhere else.  i don't really like designing things, i like testing, being hands-on, getting in there and doing things myself.  then there's the fact that i've never taken a geo class in my life.  so what if i sign up for it and then find out i hate it?  grad school isn't like undergrad, you can't just switch majors.

there's also the issue of funding.  i don't know if geophysics offers funding like engineering does, since with aero you do research for a professor and they pay you.  if i didn't get paid, i'd have to find a job to help pay for school and living expenses, which would make less time for school.
